Venue: Virtual.Igem.My (Online)

BIO ENECO™: The first-ever week-long Virtual International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (Virtual IGEM) 2020 brought an unparalleled showcase experience to both exhibitors and visitors.

Organised by the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) through its agency, the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC), Virtual IGEM 2020 is the largest trade event for green technologies and eco-solutions in Southeast Asia, with the theme of “Energising Sustainability” this year.

Virtual IGEM 2020 hosted a total of 45 conference sessions on topics such as energy, green technology, green finance, climate action, waste management, policy analysis and women empowerment. Malaysia Biomass Industries Confederation (MBIC) also contributed a Webinar session to offer detailed insight of the biomass industry and its players in Malaysia. The event ultimately attracted close to ten thousand online visitors from 79 visiting countries to the virtual conference.

As part of the global green economy, BIO ENECO ™ was one of the exhibitors for the Premium booth. In fact, BIO ENECO ™ has been taking part in IGEM for the past few years as an invited visitor. Last year, we were delighted that MGTC offered us an opportunity to be the main sponsor for the MyHijau Pavillion.

This year, we are on another new learning curve to exhibit our company and product virtually. We established one microsite for displaying our company and product information. We also prepared a 30-minute pocket talk aimed at addressing the environmental issue and raised awareness on the purpose of wooden and agricultural biomass. Our pocket talk was even ranked number 1 on the first day of Virtual IGEM 2020.

For those who had any enquiries, they contacted us via the live chat messenger for instant response. Our team also conducted several business matchings with different stakeholders such as government, corporation, association and traders. Our booth had a courtesy visit by Deputy Secretary General of Ministry of Environment and Water, Dr. Nagulendran. It was such an honour for us to exchange some thoughts on the biomass industry and policy.

Finally, we managed to attract close to a thousand of visitors to our booth and half a thousand visitors to view our pocket talk. Virtual IGEM 2020 was undoubtedly an ideal platform for all solution providers and green energy businesses to tap into the fast-expanding energy market. It has offered industrial players like BIO ENECO™ to keep abreast of the latest development of green technology and eco products of the region.

BIO ENECO™ continuing to play our role to promote the importance of biomass as an alternative energy source while practising social responsibility by participating in this virtual IGEM 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. We wish everyone to be safe and hope to meet everyone in person in the near future.
